I was having intermittent low boost codes & limp mode over the past year. I assumed it was a gunked turbo, fuel filter or fuel delivery, gunked intake system, air filter, etc. Tdi pans are flat, aluminum, hung low on a tall block, and mounted transverse which makes for the largest possible target. Subie oil pans are less flat in profile, steel and mounted longitudinally on a relatively shallow block. Even then, I've still had to weld up a hole in a ej22 pan that had a gnarly rock scrape. There are ECU's that are flashable from EDC15 or the old ones, which have to be soldered and written and written in a prommer. Your AHU is such an old one. With tax the dealer charged me $163 for the battery. Remove the solenoid and then Remove the planetary gears. I replaced the drive, which is a HUGE pain. The drive is normally good still on these starters. You can tell though by turning the drive by hand while holding the planetary gears still. You only need 1/2 turn, that's 180 Degrees. They are PLENTY loose by this time. So no further! I have a 2013 JSW TDI. I've had the car since April, and driven it about 16K miles at this point. So far, I love it! However, I had a really hard start incident yesterday, and need some advice/opinions. It has the VW spec on it but does not say anything about use for a diesel engine. It states for high performance engines. My advice would be to drain the coolant and refill it with G12+ or ++. The G12 is specifically designed to keep the coolant lines clean and not introduce anything that can cause corrosion of any of the parts touched by the coolant. Once I got a tune it changed the car completely.Another aspect that is overlooked is the OEM intake point is drawn from a region of high pressure, if you defeat this you just lost 3-5 hPa of air pressure driving down the road. I've seen the DIY step by step photos where you have to remove the engine cover, battery, and air box to get to the fill cap of the transmission.Remove the two torx screws. Next remove the torx screws from under the back of the bumper. Then pry the cover off starting from each wheel well. CBEA 2009 parts:Step five; Take your T30 bit and start working off the bolts. You only need 1/2 turn, that's 180 Degrees. They are PLENTY loose by this time. So no further! The molded clothe oil pan cover was $150 (250$ at the dealer) on rock auto but I decided not to get it for now. The drive is normally good still on these starters. You can tell though by turning the drive by hand while holding the planetary gears still. It should go smoothly one direction, and then not turn the other direction.If remote start is still your preferred option, it will at least give the coolant a 30 degree head start* and get the cabin heater going and the seat heaters warm before you leave for work. *very rough estimate entirely dependent on temp, how far in advance you start the engine, phase of the moon, etc. 7.P0299 was the code. The apparent cause was a loose clean air line from the N75 valve to the air filter box. It was secure on the air box side but ready to fall off the fitting on the N75 side. Reseating the line on the N75 valve seems to have resolved the issue. No cell or limp mode since.The DPF: Unplug both the EGR and DPF pressure sensors (the EGR one is protected by a little space blanket). Remove the Torx bolt for each (DPF one is the easily seen black one, the EGR one is a backside one going into the valve cover).
