L cluster is a very powerful cluster to have. Once acquired you can use the gates to travel across the galaxy faster than evreyone else and its full of strategic resources. It has a choke node that connects to all of the gates in the galaxy. There are multiple events that are connected which are. This is what protects you from swarms of corvettes.
